I came across a group of guys who are selling software they say can recover lost crypto wallets. They claim it was made by ‘Russian experts’ and have about 7,000 people in their forum. The base price for their service is 30€/month. After you pay, they send you the software in a zip file with instructions on how to use it. You can pick which cryptocurrency you want it to search for, though if you want it to look for more than one at the same time, you have to pay extra. They say after 1-24 hours, it gives you a 12-digit code that lets you transfer money from the lost wallet to yours. They show screenshots of people who claim to have found between 400-20k €. I’m trying to figure out if this kind of thing is real or just a scam. If it’s real, how does the software work?
If this was actually legit, why wouldn’t they just keep all the profits for themselves instead of selling the software? Why can it supposedly find lost wallets but not active ones when the method of access is the same? It sounds too good to be true, because it is. I can’t believe people still fall for these things.
@Timber
They might sell it because active wallets can be reported. They’re just trying to make more money off people.
I once bought a book online titled ‘How to scam people out of their money.’ Funny thing is, I never received it.
This is definitely a scam. You’ll probably download their software and the next thing you know, they’re trying to get into your wallet .
Let’s review the main words from your post: ‘Russian,’ ‘experts,’ ‘crypto,’ ‘zip file,’ and ‘30€/month.’ Totally sounds legit, right?
There’s no such thing as a ‘lost’ wallet indicator. Software like this might exist, but it only pretends to do something. The only ones making money are the ones charging people monthly fees. The customers end up with nothing.
This is obviously a scam. You don’t need to be a genius to figure that out.

Give me 3 reasons why it’s a scam, because there’s still a tiny part of me (like 1%) that thinks it could be real.
@Fane
I don’t need to give you reasons. If you think it’s real, go ahead and try. You’ll see.
While there are wallets made with bad randomness that can be cracked (think ‘weak seed phrases’), what you’re talking about here is most likely a scam. In real cases, wallets are stolen, not ‘lost’.
This reminds me of the guy who tries to sell you a course on becoming a millionaire, but he’s not even a millionaire himself .
This is just nonsense. It’s a complete scam to get your money.
Here’s how the scam works:
- You pay them.
- You download the software and it empties your wallet if you have one.
- It shows you fake amounts that you supposedly found.
- It tells you to send more money to unlock those funds.
- ‘Tech support’ asks for even more money to help unlock those fake funds.
- If you figure it out, they’ll kick you out of the forum group.
This is 100% a scam. If it sounds too good to be true, especially in crypto, then it’s a scam.
This is a scam. The idea is probably that it brute forces seed phrases, which isn’t technically impossible, but it’s extremely unlikely to work. If it did work, they wouldn’t be selling it, they’d just do it themselves.
Be careful, this is definitely a scam. If you’ve already fallen for an investment or recovery scam, don’t lose hope. There are legit experts who can help you recover your funds. You can check my profile for more info if you need help.
What’s the name of the group?
