I don’t understand why meme tokens with no real value are getting so much attention, while coins like $DOT, which have actual tech behind them, are being ignored. It really shows that hype controls price more than anything else. I also think Polkadot’s marketing needs to be better, and we shouldn’t let people like Giotto have a say in the community. What do you all think?
In the short term, yeah, it’s ridiculous. But long term, most of these meme coins lose 99% or more of their value during bear markets.
As for DOT, maybe it’s a bit too “intellectual” for the investors we have right now.
Things could change at any time, though.
@Oaklee
DOT is going to drop 90% in a bear market too, just like the meme coins.
Let’s be real, nobody is actually using DOT, so how is it any different from meme coins? At least meme coins give better gains, unlike DOT.
@Onyx
I don’t agree. I’m getting some nice gains from staking DOT
@Onyx
Honestly, nobody really uses any of these clunky, complicated payment methods. What does ‘fundamentals’ even mean here?
This market feels like a casino
Pump and dump
People are just playing with the prices.

If you want something safer, invest in coins like DOT and XRP.
It’s not crazy at all. Meme coin creators just know what their audience wants.
Most people in crypto are here to make more fiat money.
When someone says DOT has more tech and utility than WIF, ask them what people actually do with DOT? Most of them just stake it and either compound the rewards or dump it on the market.
So, even though DOT has tech and utility, the buyers don’t care about that. Their behavior is the same as WIF buyers—buy early and sell to latecomers.
The only real difference is WIF buyers don’t get staking rewards. If they sell, they’re out. But with DOT, stakers can keep selling over and over.
I see posts like this every day. If you don’t have the patience, just sell your DOT and switch to forex trading
Why should better tech automatically make the price go up?
Utility needs consistency.

DOT is terrible.
I think your mom is, too.
