Let's talk about Worldcoin

Here are some facts

  1. Sam Altman is a major player in tech He is building some of the most important technology out there Even Elon is a bit worried about being left behind in AI

  2. Sam has put a lot of money into $WLD He believes it complements the AGI tech they are creating for a future with abundance and Universal Income

  3. Worldcoin has already logged 5 million scans and it is only available in a few countries Most other coins and tech focus on random duck images

  4. Many misunderstand Worldcoin tech due to a lack of knowledge They do not and cannot store your biometric data All they keep is a hash just like what smartphones do People don’t worry about Google seeing their fingerprint data but iris scans sound scarier to some

  5. It isn’t even in the top 100 yet while failed scam coins with CEOs in jail are doing well Yes that’s crypto but the way to make money is to invest in projects like this

  6. The small supply is a valid concern but the supply will increase with more usage through more scans which is a unique approach in crypto tokenomics

  7. They are giving out small amounts of coins every week through their app Have you heard about this

The most important person in tech really

Probably the same guy honestly

The problem is that people’s views rely heavily on what others say Like when bitcoin first appeared, most people had negative opinions of it I don’t recall any positive reviews

When I read SBF’s arguments and saw his ‘brilliance’ I had my doubts from the beginning Especially once we saw SBF’s collapse while a kid in shorts handled huge amounts of money

It’s hard to compare both I don’t want to put my trust in others nor am I trying to defend WorldCoin or worldID Just looking at the differences between them

Absolutely

I will state some facts

But then opens with an opinion as the first point

It really is a fact

8 Worldcoin is a bad investment

9 With privacy issues today, selling your biometric data for a few bucks is a bad idea

10 The person who posted this is trying to promote their investment

Look at point 4 If you need more proof, go back to school

@Sullivan
With a bit of doubt, it’s open-sourced as far as I know But without letting people scan their own biometrics using some standardized camera system, it becomes pointless and centralized

Even if people uploaded fake biometrics, using their own eyes will not work so they should allow this No one should blindly trust this tech It could lead to a social score

@Pierce
The hardware is also open source

@Sullivan
Point 4 is backed with

a) Trust me bro

b) Big data companies have never had an incentive to misuse data

c) When scanned, it’s impossible to use a device that doesn’t follow the required protocols while sending biometric data to another app

@Jagger
It is open source You can verify what I say and check their tech documents But I bet you won’t

How does being open source address point c Who guarantees that the device used is correct and uses the original code

If everything is fully open, why can’t you just fake a scan and submit false data

@Jagger
Your questions are computer science problems that can be solved with encryption verification But I guess it’s hard to convince someone who isn’t a developer

Cool I’m a developer with decades of experience So now you can explain

By the way that’s why I know what you say isn’t true Because there is nothing that can ensure the orb used by someone on the street is the same orb that meets the specifications

@Jagger
You are a developer and say you can’t verify if a device is real or not Sorry but you are not one of us

Can you describe the process then

I really want to spend a lot of my valuable time teaching a random person on the forum That’s my life goal
