What could possibly go wrong
Unless they’re selling, this isn’t a real I told you so because the price will eventually drop again, putting them in the red.

El Salvador can probably sell without much impact on the market.
Saylor’s company definitely cannot. Even hinting at selling anything will stir market reactions.
We don’t realize how much confidence comes from having a mega-bull consistently buying quarterly and insisting he won’t sell.

It’s also not a big amount for a small nation like El Salvador. It might be better if they took loans from the IMF to develop infrastructure and improve education.

Except the next low keeps rising.
Damn, he should have tagged those who doubted him, like the IMF.

They bought at the peak, so it crashed, but by just dollar-cost averaging they are now in profit. That’s smart investing.
@Laine
DCA is clearly the way to success, such a simple yet effective skill.

263 million isn’t that much, but his unrealized loss when he was mocked was less.

You can do a lot with 260 million in countries like El Salvador.

That’s slightly more than what I have now, they outgrew my holdings not too long ago.

He should have gone for WIF, Bonk, and BOME much more aggressively (like 40% of taxpayer funds). Then they would be a developed nation.
El Salvador is coming out on top right now. They made the right choice.

They stayed determined while everyone else was scared. Well done.

Michael Saylor and Nayib Bukele are the biggest BTC supporters of our time.
To what end though? What’s the plan here for him? It’s an investment, but it’s not real until they cash out. Are they really going to cash out and build hospitals?

I thought those investment gains would let them borrow money to build hospitals and such.
@Beck
You mean they could use it as leverage for a loan? Why not just cash out and pay for it?
I genuinely don’t mean to sound rude, I just don’t get his BTC strategy. I’m neither for nor against it, but I just don’t fully understand it.

The idea is that if/when he loses power, the bitcoin goes with him.
