I put in $500 with a crypto broker and my return went into my Coinbase wallet. It came in as Ethereum Meta and now I need to send $1,249 from Cash App to sync with my bitcoin account to cash out. This is what the support team at Coinbase told me. Can someone help me make sense of this

That’s what I’m thinking too but it shows I have a balance of Ethereum Meta in my Coinbase wallet

@Mikel
So what now? How can I get my money back
I’m sorry that this happened. But this is how the scam works.
@Mikel
Good for you for helping out someone new
@Mikel
Sounds a bit similar to my situation but I have much more at stake
@Mikel
Can you message me? I need some advice

Yeah you’re right. I’ve been dealing with six recovery services and they keep saying I need to pay this fee or that fee. I didn’t know there was an activation fee for Cash App but the guy says it’s $1300. Feels like I’m getting ripped off.
@Zenith
NO RECOVERY SERVICE IS REAL. JUST STOP MESSING WITH CRYPTO. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT’S GOING ON.
There’s no such thing as synchronization in crypto. I’ve been in crypto for 12 years and I’ve never met anyone who is a so-called crypto broker. They just don’t exist. The only real broker is through bitcoin ETFs. If you send that money through Cash App, you won’t see it again, that’s why scammers exploit Cash App in crypto. Cash App will not help you trace any scammers. Trust me, you don’t need to send any big amounts for anything in crypto. Who’s your broker? What’s his name? What company is he with? Did he have a money transmission license or anything like that? Or did you just find him on X or WhatsApp?

The company was WealthWiseBrokers. I’m new to this and kind of clueless, thought this was a good way to get out of debt. Now I’m worried I’ve just gotten into more debt

Hey, sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, it’s tough to recover funds from a crypto scam since transactions can’t be reversed. Please stop all communication with the scammer and report this to the authorities in your area.
Every confirmed crypto transaction on the blockchain can’t be undone. Coinbase can’t identify ownership of outside crypto addresses, and there’s no way for them to cancel or recover your funds for you.
Moving forward, just make sure to trust people when sending crypto. And remember, Coinbase staff will never ask for your Wallet’s 12-word recovery phrase.

Give me a moment. Do you have the broker’s real name? By the way, investing can be a good way to build wealth. You’re not dumb, just keep this in mind with crypto. Never give anyone your money, don’t share your wallet address, and never save your wallet seed phrase on iCloud as they can get in through your email. Trust NO ONE in crypto. With stocks, it’s harder to get scammed, and if it happens, regulatory bodies will pursue the scammer. Unfortunately, there are no such regulations in crypto. If you’re new to investing, stick to the stock market, invest in blue chip stocks, and you’ll build wealth over time. Let me check into this broker. Any more details would help.
You’re being scammed. Stop everything right now.
