Best desktop and mobile wallets?

Looking for recommendations on the best and safest wallets for both desktop and mobile. I’ve heard about Exodus, is it any good?

Not really. I’d recommend something else.

When choosing a wallet, it’s important to look for a few key things: open-source and peer-reviewed code, frequent updates, a low attack surface, and non-custodial.

Exodus is actually one of the worst choices because:

  1. It has a wider attack surface due to being multicoin, so there’s a higher risk of bugs and exploits.

  2. Using it on Windows or macOS without a hardware wallet is not ideal since those environments are less secure.

  3. It’s closed-source, meaning it hasn’t been properly peer-reviewed. This opens up the possibility of exploits or backdoors.

If you’re serious about crypto, using a wallet that depends on a single company or developer really undermines the point of security in cryptocurrencies.

Check out walletscrutiny.com for better options. If you can’t afford a hardware wallet, look into open-source wallets like Green or BlueWallet for iOS or Android. Just avoid desktop wallets unless you’re using them with a hardware wallet.

Watch out for scammers! They often send private messages pretending to help. If you get any suspicious messages, report them to the forum moderators.

For cold storage, Coldcard is probably the best option.

For regular use, I’d recommend Zeus.

I’d go with BlueWallet.

For desktop, check out Wasabi Wallet.

For mobile, Unstoppable is a good choice.

I’ve been told to use Electrum with Tails, and always sign transactions offline for extra security.
