Looking to store my AVAX in a cold wallet for years and won’t be staking. Any thoughts on Ledger, BC Vault, Ngrave, or others?
I like the new Trezor. I store my BTC there, but I haven’t moved my AVAX yet since I’ve been trading it a lot.

Ledger, Trezor, and Keystone are all good options. You mentioned not staking right now, but for anyone curious, Ledger is the only hardware wallet that supports Avalanche’s X and P-Chains, which you need if you want to stake using our Core wallet.

Had a bad experience with Keystone. It stopped working after 6 months, but they did refund me after some back and forth. It made me nervous about using it in an emergency though.

You’re right, there are third-party wallets that support staking AVAX. However, they usually take a cut from the rewards and have other restrictions. Core wallet lets users stake directly with no intermediaries, and the tokens stay in your wallet the whole time.

I use Trezor… but if you’re staking, use Ledger with Core Wallet.

I’m only holding AVAX. That’s the only project I trust.
I use Ledger because it works well with both Metamask and Phantom wallets. People like to criticize it since it’s been around so long, but I’ve seen other hardware wallets come and go. Never had issues with Ledger.
