Kind of reminds me of Blockbuster not taking on online streaming. If Apple doesn’t do it, someone else will, and that will force their hand.
The best outcome would be for Apple to add crypto features to the iPhone.

Yes, if Apple Wallet started supporting top 10 Cryptos, that would be wild. But some governments might not like that.
@Cade
Just block the features in countries that don’t want it.
@Cade
Turns out governments can be bought, and Apple has plenty of cash.

Why would they implement Bitcoin since it isn’t practical as a currency or payment? Better to use coins that have real use.

Why?
@Ming
To send money fast with low fees.
Those benefits don’t only apply to stablecoins. Many stablecoins have those features, but it’s not just because they are stable.

Same reason people use Bitcoin? It’s seen as a store of value, and honestly, I’ve used BTC to buy some sketchy stuff a few times… if people accept crypto, it’s usually BTC.
@Cade
Not worth implementing just for people to store it. Also, it isn’t a store of value since it changes a lot.

He stressed that Apple has no plans to add cryptocurrency to its operations or payment systems.
@Washington
Exactly, LOL at people who skip reading the article.
@Washington
The CEO also hinted Apple was looking into other options but didn’t provide details. And he noted that NFTs are interesting too.
Maybe they’re considering something with NFTs?

It would be awesome to have USDC and EURC stablecoins in Apple wallets, along with BTC and ETH.

Render maybe. They already use Octane for rendering in some apps. Allowing faster rendering with Octane seems logical.

It takes them forever to add new features that Android has had for ages, and you expect something new from Apple?
