Basically, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse is calling the SEC a rogue agency for ignoring a court ruling that says XRP is not a security. Ripple is looking at legal ways to make the SEC answer for its actions. Even after a judge ruled in July 2023, the SEC still claims XRP is a security. Ripple’s Chief Legal Officer, Stuart Alderoty, has raised issues about the SEC’s behavior. The crypto exchange Bitnomial is also challenging the SEC’s claims about XRP, pointing out selective enforcement and questioning the agency’s trustworthiness.

It’s clear that they are operating above the law. That might be why they refuse to hand over the emails and other documents.
Not to mention the market manipulation they have been doing by making statements at strategic times.
@Lily
We really need transparency and fairness to keep trust and integrity, but sadly, the SEC is far from that.
Is Steven Seagal working at the SEC?

Gary Gensler seems to be feeling the heat.
And lawmakers don’t seem to care about that. Isn’t that ironic?
Gensler thinks he is above the law.
Gary watermelon cowboy.
They are both corrupt.
If that’s the case, what happens to all the fine money paid to them? I guess that just disappeared.
Before the crypto fans start defending this guy, they’re not wrong. If you’ve been in crypto for a while, you know this guy is running one of the biggest pre-mine scams ever. He succeeded because it was one of the first and got caught up in crypto booms. XRP has been around for a long time, but it still has no real use besides being a meme coin. I don’t have the latest numbers, but the CEO controlled so much of the supply that he owned around 70-80% even in 2021.
@Rudy
XRP has never been a meme coin.
@Rudy
You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. No utility and a meme coin? Seriously?
And I don’t have the latest numbers, but the CEO owned 70-80% of the supply even in 2021
No one person has ever owned more than 10% of the total supply. Jed owned around 10% in September 2012, but now he only owns 177 XRP or 0%. If you’re going to make things up, at least try to stick close to the facts. It’s a public ledger, so it’s easy to look up.
Didn’t he just donate a million dollars in XRP to Harris?

No, that was Chris Larsen.
