Is Binance really that bad

Used them for a few years until they stopped supporting Canadians. Never had a problem; I mostly hold lesser-known tokens there

BTSE is one of the best exchanges right now

With all the fails and with CZ potentially facing jail time, 10 years for money laundering. I just can’t trust them

You’re making a lot of sense

Don’t trust Binance with any crypto you care about. They make poor decisions that hurt users. They operate more like a bank than most banks.

When the US started cracking down on KYC, they froze my account (opened in 2017) because some algorithm thought I lived in a no-crypto state. That’s not the case. I couldn’t get my BTC, which had been sitting there for years. I spent a year trying to get verified: sending ID, videos, SSN, etc. During verification, they even asked me to log in without a VPN, which really annoyed me.

Compare that with Kucoin. When they restricted US accounts, they made sure trading was restricted but withdrawals were not impacted. They did everything possible to help me access my funds

Didn’t the CEO get arrested for some fraud issues recently? Seems like Binance is really sketchy

In my view, yes. They now also ask for facial recognition for withdrawals. I get the security reasons, but it should be left up to the user

Yeah, these seem like standard KYC procedures
