Help Me Understand Why Fees on Kraken So High for Buying and Selling?

Hello everyone …

I’m trying to get a better understanding of the fees associated with buying and selling on Kraken. I’ve noticed that I’m being charged around 1% for both buying and selling when I’m trading over 100€ worth of Bitcoin. Is this a normal fee structure, or is it related to the fact that I funded my spot wallet with a SEPA transfer?

To add to my confusion, I just noticed that the sell fee jumped to 5%! That seems really high to me. Can anyone explain why these fees are so steep and if there are ways to reduce them?

Hi traders
You can choose where to trade your cryptocurrency by carefully weighing these considerations and contrasting Kraken’s fees with those of other platforms.

I have always been a major admirer of Kraken. However, in all honesty, charging 10 times as much for the same feature is sort of tacky and goes against the premise that cryptocurrency is an asset “for the people,” as far as I can tell. I guess I’m simply stating that I pay you enough for you to occasionally leave my thoughts. Salutations
