He noticed issues when Microsoft began accepting it as payment and later stopped in 2018. People buying Bitcoin in hopes of price increases may overlook these problems.
Satoshi put the limit as a temporary measure against transaction spam, but after he left, some developers kept that limit to profit off the sidechains.
Satoshi’s comment about increasing it later is still available on the Bitcointalk forum.
