Just think about where we could be if those hacks had never happened. We need to keep pushing against these hackers and scammers.

If no hacks existed, adoption would be up by 30% or maybe more.
@Miltan
Unfortunately, you’re right. Many people remain skeptical because of the constant scams and hacks happening lately. I really believe adoption would be much higher if these issues didn’t exist.

Don’t stress. Focus on the bright side. We’re gathering our investments, and one day, those who fell for scams might even give us profits.
all those people will become our exit liquidity.
If that’s the case, we might be looking at early retirement.

Sadly, there’s no way to stop these hackers, so adoption will continue to lag.

We’d actually be much less secure without those hacks. They help improve security for the future. The real issue is putting large amounts into untested projects.

If hacks didn’t exist, it might look like this:
Bitcoin at 200k, Eth at 8k, Moon at 3 dollars.

It’s astonishing how much money has been taken in these hacks.
@LiamDigitalDialogues
The MyAlgo wallet hack hurt so many Algorand users in an instant.

Yeah, we will never know what might have been if not for that.

These issues can also lead to progress. We need problems to find solutions.
@JamesHenry
This thought process is what’s wrong with much of the crypto scene currently. Thinking that hacks are necessary to improve tech is a huge misunderstanding in crypto. The flexibility of Ethereum naturally increases hacks, it doesn’t have to be like this.
@Misha
If this issue wasn’t discovered, someone would still look for a solution. There are always going to be fraudsters. We need to focus on solutions to prevent it.

There are good solutions available. However, mentioning that in response to your comment may lead to downvotes. People prefer to ignore the problems instead of letting reasonable discussions take place.

On a different note, every hack brings publicity and helps more people learn about crypto, or so they say.

Yeah, but it’s unrealistic to think that way. Hackers will always be drawn to money. It’s just the way things are.
We need to find better ways to catch them and put them behind bars to deter others.
I lost my crypto on Cryptopia when they were hacked in 2019. I had about 3 BTC in different alts there. It was really dumb to keep my funds on a sketchy exchange, and it was an expensive lesson. I see the scammer/hackers as total low-lives, but I also blame myself for what happened.
@SatoshiSeekerSam
That’s a tough pill to swallow. You’re right about the hackers being the worst. They are the worst scum around.
Hopefully, they face consequences one day.

I also lost some funds on Cryptopia. Since then, I’ve been all about self-custody.
